Good as gold

Fon and I stopped over at the Brisbane airport yesterday morning and picked up her mum and older sister who flew in from Bangkok. They are pretty exhausted by the time we got back to the Gold Coast so they went to bed for most of the day.

As for me, I managed to upgrade my Ubuntu from 7.04 (Feisty) to 7.10 (Gutsy) over the last couple of days. Unsurprisingly, ran into a couple of problems with OpenOffice and VMware Server but I got that sorted out now so it’s all good. Work is busy as usual: websites, brochures, gift vouchers, flyers and so on.

Wii meets the TV

This arvo, my Wii got introduced to the TV. I pickep up the TV from The Video Factory and got home, plugged in the Wii which I got from Harvey Norman with Wii Sports. It’s pretty cool in terms of innovation as you can play a variety of sporting games at home without having to worry about cables.

So, my New Year’s resolution is to loose 20kg by having a couple of games on Wii (particularly tennis) everyday. It may seem to be a long shot but I’m willing to have a go at it. I have a log book which I’ll be using to track my progress.

Nintendo Wii

Got myself a Wii today from Harvey Norman. Spent $217 including an extra remote since I redeemed a $200 Gift Card. Unfortunately my TV is still in repair so I can’t play anything until I get the TV back. I guess this is a good opportunity for me to practice my “patience is a virtue” philosophy.

Back to Gold Coast

Just got off the flight and arrived home safe and sound.

The day was pretty fun. Got to Sydney early in the morning and spent about 4 hours with the client at a small coffee shop. After lunch I cruised around in the city and did some light shopping at Myer. For the rest of the arvo I dedicated myself chatting on MSN before heading back to the airport.

Overall, it was a good day. The weather wasn’t too bad considering I was wearing semi-formal. It’s a pity I couldn’t take any photos since I forgot to bring my new camera. Nevertheless, I’m not into photography that much anyway.

Sydney and back tomorrow

I’ll be in Sydney tomorrow to discuss a web development contract with a client. You can reach me on my mobile for urgent matters.
